Actions
An "Action" is a notification sent from Amnesty's National or International offices. These alerts, which are distributed to local chapters throughout the world, describe cases of harassment, abduction, imprisonment, or torture of individuals who are speaking out or demonstrating against injustices committed by government officials or their surrogates.
Chapters meet worldwide regularly to write letters to appropriate officials denouncing these human rights abuses and pleading for prompt remedies and protections for the victims.
Chapter #597 writes two actions every meeting. The actions address human rights issues all over the world.
